I'm busy with other things today, but John DeNardo was nice enough to include me in the responses for the latest Mind Meld question: "It seems that more and more, fiction marketed as "Young Adult" deals with mature themes. Has it crossed a line? Is young adult sf/f is too explicit?"
My answer is basically: No. Follow the link to see more thoughtful responses, and, er, the expected comment from one John C. Wright.
Thanks for sharing this post, Gwenda. This is a subject that I've been wondering about, especially as one who who works with adult titles that have YA cross-over appeal, titles that often deal with some gritty subjects.

Well, after reading the excerpt from that old link and the comments section, I'm getting my hands on some Holly Black books immediately. (Not that I hadn't heard about her before but, and this may sound trivial :-/, the font size in her books (Tithe & Valiant anyway) were too large for my tastes. Couldn't get past page three without grinding my teeth. Are there ebook versions? Maybe I could get those...)
