Tuesday Hangovers

• John Hodgman offers the kind of interesting judgment you'd expect at the Tourney of Books today, but the real squee is in the commentary, where it's revealed Frankie Landau Banks really does have a shot at ye olde zombie round. Fingers very much crossed.
• A collection of Katherine Dunn's boxing essays, One Ring Circus, is out. Want a new novel from her with a million tons of want.
• A couple of interesting posts over at the Magic District: N.K. Jemisin on day jobs and Diana Rowland on the SF ghetto phenom.
• Janni Simner discusses her fascination with apocalyptic lit over at Powell's.
• Over at the Guardian Book Blog, Jed's novel The Manual of Detection racks up another recommendation, and inspires some interesting thoughts about the difference between dream sequences in fiction of the realistic and speculative varieties.
• 30 Poets in 30 Days will celebrate children's poetry with a new poem every day in April posted at the Gotta Book blog. I'll be tuning in, as I see some faves on the list, including the divine Julie Larios.
• Christopher has some bits of good news, including that he'll be reading with Andy Duncan at the KGB Fantastic Fiction series on Dec. 16. Yes, we are finally coming to New York, so we will see y'all then. (Actually, we'll see some of you a couple of weeks early when we're there for a Certain Important Wedding.)
• As you can see, there's a lot of basketball talk going on in our house currently. Let's just say that even one of the analysts characterized Pitino's movements as "prowling" the other day. Just saying.
